If it's any help, I can tell you it was minted in Munich in 1936(mint mark =" D"). It is made from a 900 grade of silver- still worth a good 8 bucks or so in US dollars just to melt it. It is'nt a rare year but is still collectable. There were 1,872,000 of these minted that year in Munich, which makes it the second highest number produced for that year. The only one higher would be the "A" mintmark for Berlin which produced 8,430,000.

1940 5 pfennig minted in Munich. Unfortunate condition, though. Not worth a great deal in this condition.
