    Whats the size,any maker marks(cant see any)?? from what I see in the pictures dont like it -

    Well its 23cm (tall) and 13cm (width) and weighs about 2KGs, and i don't think there is a makers mark,

    doesn't look very professional there are gaps around the base and it isn't cut straight personally i would steer clear of it

    The pictures laying on the side is not good.
    It is poor quality work. Detail is lacking.
    Proffessional foundries cast bronzes with a thickness of an American 1 cent piece. The weight you mention and size tells me it is solid cast. A sure sign of amature work.
    If you have purchased this bronze as a WWII piece try to get your money back as it definitely is not original.

    I agree with the above opinions, not a good one. The patina is of a typical shellac finish that is added to modern brass items such as curtain rails, fireplace companion sets etc. to make them look 'antique'. The detail in general is not good enough for an officially sanctioned piece as this would have been. Finally, the head appears to have been braised onto the brass base, it should be a single casting. I'd avoid it personally, but see what others say.

    Good, concise observations. One must agree with the above, not a period piece.
