American Bund
The American Bund was a group or organization of German citizens that lived in the states.
Essentially, Nazi sympathizers. They had pockets in area's such as New Jersey and all over the country. Hitler was not keen on this as he felt that alienating the Americans was not wise. So although he met with the leaders, he was a German. There was a difference, Hitler recognized it.
But these people set up camp, and ran Bund camps for youth and and adult circles as well. They still stand in northern New Jersey.
There was an organized group of German National Socialists that organized in the 30's. These pieces are American Bund and can be found with various manufacture and maker mark. But the symbols are of the American Bund.
Various makers and quality but not post war.
A lot to this actually, but the camps are still there and the Germans always leave their trace. The bund camp and organizations were a sign of the times. There was a movement in the U.S and these are American Bund.
Hard to say as to period. But these are generally out of the realm of fakers as market on original pieces are low.
They are not often encountered and there is no market. A significant piece of history and not attractive to most.
All is well, just busy.
These are nice pieces and the quality is generally pretty high. First saw them years ago in a collection and they make for a nice addition to any collection really.
I have matching vase. Same pattern and maker marks. When found, many years ago, bund logo had actually been painted over. I'm thinkin most of the Long Islanders who partied at Camp Ziegfried in 1940 tossed their goodies away as I've not found any more.
