Great looking set, is it a set for measuring distances on naval maps..
"Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."
Thanks.. I think it could represent a set for map reading ,but are not of professional quality for actual use... Thanks again...
Zeiss have a great archive I seem to remember and are normally very helpful if you wish to contact them...
I have a feeling this is an old, perhaps period set, that has had suspect i.e. fake insignia attached. I have never seen an original stubby wing eagle like that before. I would expect to see a serial number etc.
Cheers, Ade.
Hello, thanks for all your help. I will try and check with zeiss whether they have any information on the item. The photographs are a little misleading, the box is actually jet black not blue as it appears. The other two items are also stamped with german insignia. Thanks again.
Attached is an image of a roundel to a DLV buckle that I hold.
The stub wing eagles attached to the instruments do seem to have slight similarities to this DLV eagle and swastika.
Regards,
David
