Cast Aluminum (?) Ashtray. Need some opinions...

Hi all,

A friend of mine passed these photos to me asking my thoughts and I'm not at all versed in stuff like this. To me it looks like a custom piece, maybe even post war?

If anyone has experience with ashtrays like this, can you please give me some feedback on whether or not you think this is wartime period, and if so what you think the value of this might be? I don't think he's looking to sell it, just wants some info.

Personally, I don't think this is Third Reich.

That's my opinion as well, but with such a specialized item its so hard to tell. Why do you think its not TR? Anything in particular or just your gut?

HI Darren, just the general design and the fact it has a swastika alone, without an eagle or anything else.

Ah, good eye Ade! I hadn't even considered that. The crest around the Swastika is odd too. I'm going to tell him its likely a souvenir post war piece of some kind. Probably worthless.
