Edelweiss
Hello everyone!
I've got this little Edelweiss pendant. I think that the pendant made of bone / horn, manual processing, very details. I would not say that it is a bakelite or plastic materials. I guess it's an old souvenir from Austria, but please for your opinion. Maybe it's Winterhilfswerk or something related to Wehrmacht mountain units, etc...
Pendants and badges that represent Edelweiss are quite spread out, so I think it should always be checked.
Thanks in advance for yours opinions,
Aleksandar

Whether it might be from the WHW, I do not know, but it definitely has no military connection.
The Edelweiß is an omnipresent symbol when it comes to all things mountain/highlands.

I know that. There are a lot of Edelweiss souvenirs, but I think it should always be checked. Because, this is an old Edelweiss pendant...
Maybe is Winterhilfswerk...
Thanks for quick answer!

With the pores and inclusions I think it's bone, so likely a tourist item as HPL suggests.
I don't think WHW items were made of bone but I could be wrong.

Yes, I think it's pendant of bone, too. Hand made. But, it isn't looks commercial as souvenirs today.
Chris, thank you for your answer and opinion!
Cheers, Aleksandar
