Picked this up the other day, I have not seen anything like this before, The cloth is faded, there is a small rip in the fabric, it does not glow, and it looks as though it has been pinned at the top, maybe inside in a protective plastic cover? If it is a fake I would be stunned, the workmanship is certainly apparent, printed not embroidered..........it hasn't been knocked up in a pakistani workshop, but I think it's so sweet, so I'm keeping it
I've probably put this in the wrong section, if I have, apologies mods, feel free to correct me
Thanks for the comments guys, I would love to know if anyone has ever seen anything like this before? My thinking is, as a fake or reproduction it isn't the smartest thing to fake, I mean, it's pretty boring as things go
Very nice piece, I've never seen one like it before either. Perhaps used for temporary post office during events such as the Nuernberg Rally or other "Party" related mass gatherings events.
From my book about signboards, a wartime photograph.
It is possible one as shown with post 1 is shown here with a crew
from the "Deutsche Feldpost".
Note the "sign" at the trailer from the buss is hung between bars!
When using this photo for the book I thought it could be a wooden
plate or cardboard, but seeing now this cloth sign, it is very well possible
it is suchlike. It could be easily hung and taken off from the trailer, rolled
and stocked away for another occasion!
