Article about: Not for Vegemite use! You might notice a small stamp on the back, that says:'Nur für Sauerkraut!'

Great historical item Dave. You are very fortunate to acquire such a unique plate. It is always interesting to hear about the bartering between soldiers with relics at the time. My dad said, you could do well if you didn't smoke (he did not) and trade cigarettes for almost anything. That Russian soldier most likely knew that. The British GI must have concealed the plate after seeing the French soldier loose his loot. Congrats!

It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

They are out there but not too many attributed to the bunker, that's what sold me on this piece. The second I saw it I knew I wanted it!

G'day mate, I saw that plate on Wittmanns site a few weeks back, I like it too but he's asking a lot for it. I have seen them go for a lot less than he's asking. If it was a better price I would have grabbed it!

Ha ha, maybe one day! I still think this plate is the best thing in my collection, the provenance is the sealer for me, it was within hearing distance of the gunshot that killed the bastard!
