Re: Goring plaque
It is supposed to look like a bronze medallion, but It appears the patination
has been painted on or varnished. There are bubbles and bumps
all around the head. Is it actually some type of metal ?
It also seems to be a fairly small piece - about 3" - 4" in diameter or so ?
I saw a documentary on Goering just last night, and apparently he was
a very pompous individual, so it wouldn't surprise me if he himself
had things like this made to give as tokens or gifts.

Re: Goring plaque
The last time I saw a Luftwaffe 'Technical Award' table medal with the likeness
of Goering on it was 30 years ago and it was selling for $300 cased,
but this was an 'official' medallion.
If this a genuine period piece it could possibly be somewhere between
$200 and $400, which is quite a spread, but I am only guessing.........

I guess 36$ was not a bad deal.
