Javier - Believe this to be a so called "Frontadler (Front eagle)" used on Dampfmotoren Engine train engines - they were mounted on the front of the engine-
nice find.

Was this the same eagle that was on ships?
I've never seen these before, spectacular item !
Sorry but this looks like a reproduction to me . The wreath has no detail , the swastika is held on by 2 screws , very rough casting on chest feathers ,the back is smoother than the front and whats up with the black spray paint .? Mr Saris has several of this type eagle in his book and they are very detailed and nothing like this one . I think someone has come up with another money maker . Javier the picture you show with your eagle is in Saris's book . Is this your eagle?
I have not seen one before either but I would be skeptical of the quality and artificial aging that appears to have been done to it.
John
I also note the poor casting detail on the front side and the random black & silver sprayed paint. A good one for Wim to comment on!
It might be reproduction, but I do still like it..
It would look lovely on the conning tower of my U-Boat.. if I had one
