Help identifying era of Plate and translation

Hi, I picked up this ornate, pewter wall hanger of Heidelberg. I am not sure if this is pre, post or during WW2. It is a very nice heavy and about 14 1/2 inch in diameter. I was told it was brought back from a vet when he was stationed in Germany.
Also, if I could get a translation, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, There are no visible year or maker marks.

The text says:

"Alt Heidelberg, du feine,
du Stadt an Ehren reich,
am Neckar und am Rheine,
kein' and're kommt dir gleich."

...meaning:

"Old Heidelberg, you fine one,
you city rich with honors,
by the Neckar and the Rhine,
none other is your equal."

It's a souvenir piece. I cannot comment on age.
