I do not read German but I believe the writing above the eagles wings will tell you what it is for.
I believe the bottom writing says something about " in technical service to the Luftwaffe.
Just guessing here friend.
It is a period piece ,they are pricey.

I've seen these many times as Luftwaffe table medals, but never as a trinket box. William

These table medals originally came in a velvet lined box/case, and should
most likely have a maker mark on the rim. I also think they were
bronzed. It's been a while since I've seen an original.
Hope someone can post a good one for comparison.
I'm a bit suspicous of the composition and finish.

Hi Paul, as already stated, this item should be a table medal. The item illustrated is bad.
