Not to be rude but why do you think this sign is for Herman Goering St. ?
If it is Hermann Goring Strasse, it is not for the street in Berlin. I believe all of the Berlin street signs were blue with white lettering. There was probably a Hermann Goring St. in every town across Germany.
I would think if it a Street named after Hermn Goering would it no be Goering St ?
Have seen another white one, but with a dash between the words.
With all signs seen it is as Göring, not as Goering!
Not necessarily.
For streets named after personalities, either the first name and the surname or just the surname are used, both either with or without titles such as Doktor, Professor, General, Bürgermeister etc. (if applicable).
Which style is used depends on what is customary in the respective municipality or town quarter and/or on which version sounds better or is more practical. (For example, if both the first and the surname are very long, it makes sense to use just the surname.)
In terms of grammar, if the full name is used, it would be correct to hyphenate all components of the street name (for example Friedrich-Schiller-Straße); if just the surname is used, it is either hyphenated or spelt as one word (Schiller-Straße or Schillerstraße). However, these rules are often ignored or used unevenly.
For illustration, here are a few examples of Third-Reich era street names from the 1939 map of my hometown:
- Adolf-Hitler-Platz
- Hans Schemm-Platz
- Hindenburg-Allee
- Ritter v. Epp-Straße
- Schlageter-Straße

Göring or not Göring It will look good in a diorama, street display
Good points by everyone, I have studied it more carefully now and I´m convinced the street sign is not for "Hermann Göring Str.". If you look at the point of the arrow it´s quite obvious that the last letter in the surname can´t be the letter "g".

I cannot see why not? The height is the same as the 'o' but what is seen is the back of the 'g' tail.

I agree, I cant see why that could not be a g. It could have looked like this;
