    Correct.

At the outbreak of the war, Hitler donned a feld grau uniform with sleeve eagle to reflect his status as Head of the Armed Forces.

    To quote him:

I am from now on just the first soldier of the German Reich. I have once more put on that coat that was most sacred and dear to me. I will not take it off again until victory is secured, or I will not survive the outcome.

    Cheers, Ade.

yeah this thing was probably painted around '35.

there are paintings by the guy of Hitler from, like I said, mid to late 30s in this same political uniform.

i have not seen a portrait by this artist of Hitler wearing anything else.

gimme a minute. i'll find another painting by this guy.

Thank you everyone for your comments on this painting. It has helped some of my questions a lot. And I am very impressed how some of this info has come out of nowhere (and I have spent many, many hours researching) there is some mad skill going on here at warrelics. Again, Thank you.
