Article about: I picked this radio up not too long ago, simply because it was in such fine condition and the price was irresistible. It is the top of the line of Goebbels' People's Radios. These radios cam

Shame I can't upload some old radio broadcasts as I have a heap from 1932-45 UK/GER/US! mostly US CBS news broadcasts. Fantastic listening in the car on the commute to work. If you can find somewhere "KM99's WW11 (THE BIG ONE)" you are on a winner

Both are very nice finds , way to go.- I have one also when I was in Germany years ago I used to listen to AFN on it - One nice thing is that it changes from 110 -to 220 volts only thing you need is the plug adaptor.

    Hi,

I just saw this and am wow'd. I have wanted one of these for so long, and recently found one, and immidiately purchased it. I am waiting for it to arrive from the online seller.

BUT, I think I may have made a mistake. Looking closely at the picture of the back of the unit, on the top left I see the 'date' 1948. But, it clearly has the Sawz's on frint, and many of the internal parts have the National Socialist markings. How could the case have Swaz's on the front, and '1948' on the reverse?Click image for larger version.

The 1948 marking is not likely to be an actual date, but more a part number, I would think, as it would have been illegal and Then some to produce a swastika item in 1948 Germany. This set looks like it may have been tinkered with inside at some time over it's 70+ year lifetime, so it may be abit of a job to get him back into working order, but nothing exorbitant, as these were very simple sets. Do you have the back panel for it? They do make replacement replicas for them, if yours is missing as well as speaker cloth, power cords, etc. In fact, they do, unfortunately, make entire replica radios too, but yours looks to be of the period. Who was the maker? In the meantime, I'd recommend a wiping down with a good furniture polish on a soft cloth to spiff it up and perhaps a gentle brushing of the annoyingly grooved(dirt catchers) knobs using a damp soft bristle toothbrush. Nice pick up, in any case! Now you need a DKE-38 and a VE-301w!

Thanks for your reply! When it arrives, I will check for further numbers. It have a money back guarantee if I am not satisfied so I can always go that route if I have serious doubts on the authenticity. I'm hoping all is well...I have wanted to add one of these to my collection for a long time! Thanks again!

By the way, yours are beautiful. Consider my envious.cool
