I wonder if the people who made the box ever read the book...

The same case has just popped up for auction at Ratisbons commencing on the 16th of February, starting bid at 2,500 Euro's. I can't help but wonder if someone's got cold feet or had the bad news on this item? Or maybe they're after a quick profit on the interest engendered by the recent reprinting of Mein Kampf since the copyright ran out? Irrespective of how enthusiastically it was received here last year, I didn't personally believe in it then, and I still don't like it now.

I was just looking at this on Ratisbins and remembered this old thread. Thanks for tying this together Ned.

My take on these would be that they would make a nice display item post 45 or not - There would have to be some provenance related to the item for sure before I would shell out the type of cash that is being asked for- also I'm sure that a artisan/maker of this type of item would mark this one of a kind item , I see no reference of this in the original posting.

I agree entirely, there appears to be no provenance at all as none is mentioned the second time it's been put up for sale in a few months. With items such as this you either choose to believe or you don't......And I choose the latter. As a modern repro/fantasy piece it's merely a nick nack, and not a very tasteful one at that.
