Surely an add-on and not related to Daimler-Benz...this particular set-up was for the Association of Independent Gardeners and Florists, by the way...
    cheers, Glenn

Very nice item on a similar theme here is an Interesting Mercedez Benz & Eagle medal with the same eagle design apparently given to women employees that worked for the company. Unsure of authenticity though?.

Well that's very interesting too! So perhaps the eagle on the truck is a Mercedes item after all? Perhaps someone on here will know more about your medal. Thanks Jimm

Interesting picture, thanks for showing it.

I notice that the placard on the front of the lorry has the symbol for Nationalsozialistische Betriebszellenorganisation (National Socialist Factory Cell Organization) in the bottom right hand corner (see National Socialist Factory Cell Organization - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). As I understand it, NSBO was a hotbed for activists who took the socialism in National Socialism serious, who were associated with the Strasser brothers. It was neutralised after 1933 and, in 1935, effectively disappeared into DAF. I have read that on one occasion NSBO members in Berlin joined the Communists in a strike!

    Regards,

    Philip

I found this online and here is the sellers description:

Mercedes (Daimler-Benz) Pendant in Silver Presented to Women Employees

DESCRIPTION: The history of Germany and the history of Daimler-Benz run on parallel tracks. The automobile company actively supported the NS regime. Leading managers of Daimler-Benz lent valuable assistance to the National Socialists even before Adolf Hitler became chancellor in 1933. The corporation often claimed that it was responsible for helping to motorize the ‘movement.’ One way the company aided Hitler’s party was to take out large advertisements as early as 1931 in the Volkischer Beobachter, the newspaper of the NS. It is rumored that in exchange Daimler-Benz cars were given or lent to the party officials. The three-pointed Mercedes emblem and the NS swastika were paired in the eyes of the “Volk.” The company itself was a personal favorite of the Führer, who generally rode in Mercedes cars, as did the rest of his entourage. Actually Jacob Werlin, who was an associate of the company, was a personal friend of Adolf Hitler, whose ties with the German Führer dated back to the 1923 putsch. When Hitler left Landsburg Prison in 1924, Werlin picked him up at the prison gates in a nice, new Mercedes. It is said that Hitler held a very nice portfolio of Daimler-Benz stock, which Werlin personally administered for him. The top management of Daimler-Benz welcomed the military buildup under National Socialism; the company became the leading armaments maker in Germany. Airplane motors and spare parts, tanks and armored vehicles, heavy trucks, and even a major section of the V2 rocket were provided for the German government. On a massive scale Daimler-Benz employed tens of thousands of men and women including foreign workers into the battle to produce engines for the German Air Force. But alas, even though the company’s products were made in the greatest of precision and quality (many times better than the foes were able to produce), the problem was that they could not keep up with the demand being outnumbered by the Allies’ sloppy production pieces, but the Americans were able to provide 50 tanks and engines to every one of Germany’s elite products, and then alas, came the “Götterdämmerung” and the new age slithered forth. These pendants were distributed by the company to faithful women employees for diligent service in accordance and cooperation with the NS Arbeits Front, the labor organization within the factories. Again, as we said in the beginning of this explanation, the Benz company worked in close parallel with the NS administrators. I would suppose the officials and Daimler-Benz historians in the new Germany would trip over themselves to deny this. But common sense would tell us that for such a huge industrial conglomeration it would only be quite natural that a patriotic position would be uppermost in the minds of company officials in that bygone era, for all the natural reasons that would come to mind. The amulets, cufflinks, tie pins, lapel pins in the 1930s that were presented were all of the same pattern showing the amalgamation of the company with the ideals and agenda of their best customers, the National Socialist party and later, the regime. The pendant is slightly larger than an American dime (10-cent piece). It is die struck in silver, although unmarked. The early national eagle is shown superimposed at the top of the Mercedes logo. The back may have been left open for the inclusion of the recipient’s name and work number. The detail is excellent and few things offered can be quite so important to German 20th-century history. This is very, very rare!

germaniainternational is a bit of a dodgy one if i remember rightly , so the medal may or may not be good?. He likes his fantasy descriptions a lot on there a bit too much for my liking.
