Although I can't comment on the subject matter for me the sign looks original. The fakes and copies that seem to be everywhere these days never seem to have a makers mark. Gottfried Dichanz was a well known producer of enamel signs including railway signs for Victoria Metro station in Athens but probably better known for their lovely brewery signs.
Also the damaged areas look like they have been formed over time and not chemically done.
Regards, Mark.
as said before: seems to be okay. Dichanz is a producer for NSFK-signs.
At the left corner I do see: Ursus-Email, which is their trademark.
If this one would be a fake actually, then I do advise collectors to stop collecting these signs.
The market is floaded by fake signs these days. Many of them were made after my book was
published in Germany in 2009.
The "evil" started a few years back. A real pity for a true collector! Market has become diseased.
Gentleman,
Thank you for your opinions on the sign. I am grateful.
