nssk hood ornament real ?

found this in the classifieds, been eyballing it for awile. seller states it is marked dgrm and rzm ,
any thoughts? seems to be in good shape , possibly nickle plated?

Hello Chuck it looks like an accepted original variant to me.

I would like to see some clearer pictures if it was me.

I assume the DRGM marking will be at the base of the wreath on the reverse side.

It could be aluminium in which case I would give it a thumbs down.
The nut and thread does look in near mint condition

Thanks for the input. Seller thought it was maybe brass plated with nickel but when i look at the tail on the back side it seems like nickle plated aluminum .
I see an rzm mark atvthe base of the tail . Is this acceptable ?

The RZM logo can normally be found at the base of the tail as in your picture but it does look a little weak but that in itself does not put me off.
Get the seller to photograph the DRGM mark which will be on the back side at the bottom of the wreath and try to get the bird in focus.

I'm not too sure it should be aluminium brass with a plating on top is fine but the casting should be quite detailed.

I would take a chance and buy it.

Try popping the pictures on to the flag section one of the experts might give some input as it could be a flagpole top. I have seen it described several ways.
The ones I have owned were all brass and either nickel or chrome plated.

So it Should be aluminum plated with nickle ?
Seller is supposed to be sending pictures out now, would 2-300 be acceptable? i am trying for under 3

This is definitely not a flag pole top but an auto radiator cap ornament. Aluminum construction is not out of the question. I would also expect it to have an RZM manufacturer's code with the exception of it being a very early piece. I like it and can not find any fault with anything.

Looks like a nice chromed NSKK Emblem - these were mounted on awards / Desk ornaments usually on a marble base -
How high is it?

guys i picked er up and ended up stopping by a local marble and granite shop to have a base made for this piece, that way the hood ornament displays even better !
