    Default Nuremberg-style eagle

An addition to the collection is this heavy, silvered eagle on a marble base.
Clearly styled on the Nuremberg Eagle, but with a mobile, separately applied swastika instead of a static one, and with seperate wing feathers.
The base retains most of its felt covering. There are no markings on it.

These are getting difficult and should be in hand and examined.

Would have to agree with Raymond, not the period quality but still makes for a nice display.

Thanks for all your comments...obviously those have made me rather unsure about the piece. I take your point about the less-than detailed finish (on the wings?) but the weight, finish of the base and general 'feel' of it means I'll be hanging onto it!
