Opinions on large cast iron eagle head

Just wanted to show (and hear your opinion) on this Eagle i just picked up, a very heavy cast iron bird, presumably from a building ? weighs 30+ pounds (look at scale compared to helmet)
There are no markings (that i see, maybe when base comes off?)
Base is horrible and it is almost falling off, so i will mount it on a new one.

Yeah exactly. Only thing i know about it is that the guy i got it from have had it for many years, and it was found in a house in Dusseldorf.

It looks almost architectural is style, or possibly a naval eagle from the prow of a ship.

This looks like an art deco American eagle that would adorn a U.S. Post office in the 1930s. Whether it's a Third Reich eagle, I couldn't say. An eagle is an eagle.
