Very impressive plaque measuring 137mm ,iron construction reflecting a standing horse atop a national emblem, encircled by a oakleaf wreath. On the reverse a oakleaf wreath with SA on the bottom - the inscription reads:Translated- "For Service in the Pre-Military Training of Young German riders". On the front is the designers initial right below the horses tail," pc" which stands for Paul Casberg.

Due to its size it makes a great display in the "Bunker" collection.

A fascinating and certainly rare as hen's teeth piece! How many can still be in existence today, you have to wonder? I would have to doubt that many people kept them after the war for a souvenir!

Thanks fellas it is a very detailed and impressive plaque - as to the designer Paul Casberg . he was a famous artist ,painter & illustrator of the period who was commissioned to design the new Wehrmacht colors - he also designed various daggers i.e. the Teno Hewer and worked for a time for the Solingen blade maker Eickhorn.
