Good-looking plaque. Sometimes these Hitler-reliefs can look a bit off, as there probably were artisans/companies of varying skill levels making them. This one is clearly one of the better ones.

How common is this plaque? I am leaning towards collecting cloth and plaque items. Is there any advice out there for me? Thanks in advance.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised, but this plaque is apparently sold as a "replica" as well - The 'Fuhrer Plaque' award

Given the above link and my interpretation of it that that the plaque there is a fake, how can I know what I am buying elsewhere (e-militaria) is an original? Thanks for the help.

Everything 3rd Reich related is reproduced, faked from tinnies to Knights crosses, desk eagles, plaques, badges, paperwork ... etc. everything.

I would like to see close up pictures of the one offered by "The Regalia Specialist" but I think the biggest giveaway is the
finish. It looks like it's been painted to look bronze. It is uneven with some light and some dark areas throughout. The originals
that I have seen have Hitlers head and the lettering slightly lighter then the background. But the background is always a solid darker bronze. I would say just go and find other threads and even other forums with originals to compare. It's always a good idea to do some research before you start collecting a specific area.
