If it was hanging up in a local post office could it be a colour lithograph varnished and impressed with a grainy texture to simulate an oil painting? I think the process was called oilograph or oleograph especially popular in the C.19.

Hi Mark , thank you for your quick reply ,to me it really looks like oil on canvas its very thick in places and you can see brush marks in places but i am not a art specialist far from it, thank again

I think Mark could be close to the mark with his print on canvas that has been varnished
It's a nice item especially with the supporting letter

Hello Melanie, Can I ask what are the measurements on this painting? It cannot be very large, having been found in a safety deposit box, but I do like it nonetheless!
