The Granite is Blue Pearl quarried in Norway & Italy so not very German haha I would defiantly say that wood is the likely mount for this!
The quality looks ok but I think the back would need to be seen for a true judgement to be made!

Agree with you Dan deffo blue pearl granite, also there dosent seem to be anyway of mounting it, if it was framed would be hard to say, but pretty sure its a modern pice of granno married to it, and Dan the first pic shows the back of the granno agree with you Horst, i would pass,
