Reichsautobahn 1000km - 1936 commemorative plaque

Any thoughts on this grey metal commemorative plaque, to celebrate the first 1000 km of the Reichs Autobahn in 1936. Size is approx. 110x85 mm and marked on the obverse B H Mayer.

Anybody have the history about this plaque? How many were made? I have seen one screwed to a marble base but how was it commonly displayed? Anything of interest about the plaque really. Not normally something I would collect but I am a huge admirer of Speer's architecture and the towering Reichsautobahn study model attached...and came across the plaque recently

It is a very nice plaque - I've never seen one before.
I wouldn't think there are/were any records to
indicate how many were made though.........
