    Those are interesting Odal! They seem to be hand tooled and enamelled, so perhaps these weren't exactly mass produced?

    Ned, of course no mass produced ones and no enamel. The typical spansh niello.
    The plates of this cufflinks are mass produced, die struck from brass or copper and gold plated.
    Filled with niello-silver and the ornaments are hammered in by hand with thin wire from Gold.
    A typical Zaragoza or Toledo work.
    Maybe you have seen one or other of this in this way made Legion Condor rings.

    And notice the different colours of the used gold.
