I would assume, like everything else, that such items are commonly faked. Are there obvious signs that should be observed in order to determine authenticity?

Absolutely no idea.. I think the embossed item number would be hard to replicate, but?? who knows?
It took a very long time to get the matching number, this type wasn't just one of a pair, I do believe a few sets were made.
I would imagine the really scarce stuff could be replicated, but who can afford them at today's prices?

Hi Panzer..nice set of candle holders 2 are always better than one and will dress up a display cabinet very well on each end.
