Is this SS plaque legit, or BS?

Article about: This would have been a reject if it was period but agree with the above a post 45 after-thought. Horst

    I ran across this item, which I personally think is BS. I have never seen an SS eagle like this, and doubt if it is SS. What do you think? It is a plaque, hangs on the wall. Thanks!

    Any ideas what kind of Eagle it is? Certainly not the garden variety
    SS Eagle...

    Certainy not an SS cap eagle. I have seen this style before, but I cannot recall where now...

    It's the same shape and style as the eagle on an SS gorget.

    yes , the same eagle of SS flagbearer gorget model 1938 ! i see before a plaque look like your , but i don't remember where , original , fantasy ??

    Maybe it IS legit. That eagle certainly is rare, so it it was a fantasy piece, I think they would have used a more traditional SS Eagle.

    But the tooling on the plaque appears done by hand with letter stamps. It's crap.

    This plaque if real, would be engraved, as in itself, would a high end piece such as this is supposed to appear.

    Got to agree with Ned the quality of the engraving on the plaque is poor , look at the way the E , SS and A are almost on top of each other then a wide gap to Hitler !!!

    Iff this was an original 1939 commeroration piece for the Officers of the LAH i would expect the quality to be much better.
