I ran across this item, which I personally think is BS. I have never seen an SS eagle like this, and doubt if it is SS. What do you think? It is a plaque, hangs on the wall. Thanks!

I am not convinced by this item either.
Cheers, Ade.
Any ideas what kind of Eagle it is? Certainly not the garden variety
SS Eagle...
Certainy not an SS cap eagle. I have seen this style before, but I cannot recall where now...
Cheers, Ade.
It's the same shape and style as the eagle on an SS gorget.
yes , the same eagle of SS flagbearer gorget model 1938 ! i see before a plaque look like your , but i don't remember where , original , fantasy ??
Maybe it IS legit. That eagle certainly is rare, so it it was a fantasy piece, I think they would have used a more traditional SS Eagle.
interesting peice....I think it may be real
But the tooling on the plaque appears done by hand with letter stamps. It's crap.
This plaque if real, would be engraved, as in itself, would a high end piece such as this is supposed to appear.

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Got to agree with Ned the quality of the engraving on the plaque is poor , look at the way the E , SS and A are almost on top of each other then a wide gap to Hitler !!!
Iff this was an original 1939 commeroration piece for the Officers of the LAH i would expect the quality to be much better.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
