Paperweight - Statue - Bust of German Pilot?
Hello Folks -
May be the wrong Forum for this, but I'll start here...
Has anyone ever seen anything like this. The size is just about the size of the image and it weighs about 2lbs. with marble base. Was supposedly for a WW1 German Pilot, but I really have no idea.
It appears there was something on the aircraft, note the hole in the middle. Swastika, Iron Cross, or perhaps not even German? It wasn't very pricey and I thought it was neat.
Any thoughts appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: Statue - Bust of German Pilot?
Hi Mike, I would say it is most likely German and dates from the 1930's.
Cheers, Ade.

Thank you Horst! There is something about these that is very interesting. I believe there is an Infantry counterpart with the M1916 Stahlhelm? Maybe someday I will find one.

Re: Statue - Bust of German Pilot?
This is not a simple piece, it appears to be a a fairly well made item. The depiction I would think would be late 20-30's and I do not think there is anything or part missing. I think this is a really nice piece and when I see Third Reich collectors looking at these I understand why the questions are geared to a mindset or application of third reich eyes.
Its a neat piece and I think you need to look at it harder.
