    Hi mate, you may not normally see the bayonet fitting but its common in 99% of British homes and still in many areas of the British empire old and new. We do have Edison screw bulbs here too but, its probably because those fittings have been made abroad

    National 220 means: 220-240v

    Steve, a plinth is a base or platform.

    Bikerboyz, I did not know this was the case in England
    and Europe regarding lightbulbs. I'd like to see
    a period photo of these swastika
    bulbs though.........!

    yeah id like to see some period pics or other info . i contacted bill shea whos a well respected collector and he says its deffinetly the real deal

    right the bakelite holders are a bit rich for me at the moment

    ive picked up a modern plain white one , that i intend to nazify with model paints etc

    i was thinking kublewagon green with maybe some lettering stenciled on ?

    can anyone help with authentic greens that i could use , or was the there a "equipment "colour i could use ...and any expamples of text or letter i could stencil on....just for a fantasy display item of course i realise they were prob black
