I havent seen them documented or in period photos.... so possibly 3rd reich but my guess would be another item that is used in Asia etc as a lucky charm / symbol!?

They were certainly used. I have seen period newsreel footage of them.
But like Dan says just be wary of possible Asian made versions.

Some wear I have seen a photo of these in use in front of a podium at a ceremony there were two mounted in light stands I will see if I can find the photo.

id be very intrested to see anything you guys can find ..im not sure how you would know ifs its the real deal or a replica, i thought it was cool enough anyway
Mabey when the bulb was turned on the swastica made a shadow on the wall.?
