    Default Wehrmacht / German Shield

    Fellows
I am hoping You can help.
I have recently acquired an interesting items (Shield) together “in the package” with some ww2 memorabilia that used to belong to a person who served in Polish Army on exile and spend some time in Germany between 1945 – 48.

My speciality is Polish Army on Exile (Polish Free Forces) with no knowledge of German items

It is an intriguing item and I am not sure of its purpose
    - Some sort of shield – stamped
    - Gold colour – looks like some sort of cover on the brass
    - Hallmarks of Arno Breker - a well known German sculptor
    - 25,5- 9.5 cm dimension and 1.5min

    Any suggestions

Sorry to say this is British made fake and he must have picked this up in the 1970's. We have covered these on the forum in the past.

It is a door plaque of the type which is fitted above the door handle.

    Cheers, Ade.

They were £4.50 in the 1970's. I almost bought one but luckly had second thoughts.

    Cheers, Ade.

I guess there is nothing wrong with repos, as long as they are sold and recognized as repos.

Hi Mike, exactly. They are not my cup of tea, but perhaps this one could have a practical application if used on the door of the "kit room" (collection room) as we call it here.

The item is called a push plate. As Ade stated, it is a fake. I recall seeing a thread on one of these several years ago. The identification comes from my previous occupation as owning a business that sold commercial doors and hardware.
