What the heck is this? A dealer told me that it was a coin tray for newstands that sold the Volkischer Beobachter. I have also seen the same item with a swastika within the wreath. Any ideas about what this might be? Thanks for your help.

If there is no Swastika on it now, then I would have to guess it is a post-war repro of a very popular Eagle. Kinda strange, because even the post-war repros have a Swastika... Could you show the back?

These have been discused on the forum before - they are known
typically as 'door knockers' or 'desk ornaments'. This one seems
to have had the swastika removed, or it was made without one.
