Worker with Shovel Wood Statue - "Albeit Adelt"
"Arbeit adelt" Worker with Shovel Statue - made of wood?, 11.5" tall. Inscribed with "Arbeit Adelt" on front of base. Engraved with "H. Ponitz" artist name. Good condition (very LIGHT scratches on base).

Not the most stunning carving, motto is the same as on RAD Hewer, still looks to be a period piece

Rough translation: 'Work Produces Virtue' which is the motto of the German
'R.A.D.' - the Reich Arbeits Dienst (National Labour Service)
I would think it is more of a commemorative piece or made as a gift, etc. by
someone with some woodcarving skill. It is not an 'official' piece, although
by it's nature is of the TR period - the shape of the shovel is an indicator,
as R.A.D. spades are shaped exactly like this.
