    Hi
I should think the eagle is just a wall plate, no military links, but i like the couple, thats a good talking point.

I figured with 'Germany' written on the bottom it was non ww2 but it is a nice eagle.
    Just what is Kitsch ?

I've seen a number of old German ash-trays (?) featuring the soldier in WWI kit (or earlier) massaging his girl's behind. This is the first I've seen in color....ceramic, I guess.

I think the pattern, often in cast alloy/potmetal, goes back at least 100 years. The humor is very "early 20th century", like the raunchy post-cards.

    Cheers,

    Pat

Patriotic eagle and souvenir/comic ashtray only.

Kitsch = 'A form of art that is considered an inferior, tasteless copy
of an extant style - a worthless immitation of art
    of recognised value............'

Agree with you on appreciated ladies behinds !

Still, they are interesting period items,
    collectable in their own right.
    Regards,

    Steve.
