WW2 German Chaplain Cross?

Article about: Many moons ago my auntie gave me this as a gift from her next door neighbor? Anyway I just thought It was some cross and didn't find out (until today) it could possibly be a Chaplain Cross.

According to my Nan, this cross was given to my auntie by an old dingy lady living next door to her at the time in Birstall. It came with a background story which she told me (it would be fair to say she was Catholic). The lady has passed since then and my auntie doesn't live in Birstall anymore to ask the neighbors. I suppose it will remain a mystery, my nan has very limited knowledge on it since the cross has passed so many hands we don't know much about it anymore!

    All the best,

Sorry to dredge up an old post, but the original cross in question is indeed for a nun. Not sure why the skull signifies that, but it apparently does.
