    Default 749TH Tank Battalion grouping

Over the summer I got a call from a guy about buying some of his dad military items. When I got to his house his wife said she had some of her dads stuff also and it was for sale . Her dad was a German immigrant who fought for the US. The Grandfather fought for Germany in WWI and was captured by the English. Sgt. Dorries stayed in the service until he was hurt in a crash while on duty in 1967. It was very hard for the daughter to sell this grouping as she had tears in her eyes as we talked about her dad. I assured her that I will keep it all together. Hope you guys like a little look into a long carrier of a US soldier. Gary

Nice grouping. I ran into a similar situation a little more than a year ago when I contacted a lady who was selling her fathers and grandfathers uniform grouping. It was heart breaking for her to part with but she just didn't have anywhere to put them and her children at no interest at all. Which was unusual because her son is in the army.

I always find it sad that people do not want to keep there family military items.
I have all of them going back to my great-grandfather items from ww1 .

Interesting grouping based on the first army tab he must have been a recruiter for some time. The first army tab was worn by recruiter in the 1950s. Really great group I really love the paper work and the constabulary papers
