Just a thread of war relics I find. most of my posts will be during summer because that is when I buy most of my relics. So, here is the first of the items:

Went to a flea market and picked up a few items.

    Antique Store/Flea Market finds

Relics: WWI mess kit dated 1916 missing fork, 4 WWII correspondence, 1 WWI correspondence, 1 WWII emergency medal, 1 WWII bar medal, and the framed object was a cool knickknack because it had a 1899 Indian head penny, 3 1899 stamps, and a 1899 banknote.

I also decided to start upgrading my storage methods. (My embarrassingly small medal collection, I need to work on that).

    Hi,

    Nice pick ups.

Can you post some up close photos of the mess kit, 1916 dated ones are harder to come by, most of them are 1918 dated.

    Regards,
    Taka

    Thank you for the photos.

Would like to see the actual date on the mess kit, dated on the front tip of the handle.

    Please take your time.

    Regards,
    Taka

Just checked, the date on the kit itself has worn off. Knife and spoon say 1916.

Whoever wore that bar medal just had a delightful time in WWII, he served in six different fronts shown by the stars. (I would take a picture but it would be very blurry).
