Haute distinction militaire or French Distinguished Conduct Medal.
Given to soldiers, NCO, officers and generals.
Order was established during the second Empire and was called 'The army jewel"...
Don't know wich periode thise one is , but second WW examples go like 20 to 25 euro.

the french medal can be bought for about £10 on e-bay,I like them so I have about 8.
