Good start. When I first started, flea markets helped a lot. Many people sell things really cheap. If you hit up a lot, you will already have a big collection.

Exactly the way I started many years ago. I bought my first helmet also on a flea market. Now I own many many meters of uniforms and equipment
Have fun collecting, it's an addiction !
