Default Carboot - May 15th 2011 - Help confirming ID

    Hi all

Found a couple of items at the carboot AT LONG LAST !! Taken a lot longer to start finding stuff this year than last.

Anyway, both items were 3 each.

First up an ammo crate. Not sure what it used to hold but it is dated 1941. I'll probably strip it down and repaint it plus re-stencil it, once someone IDs it

Next item is, I believe, a tail fin from a German incendiary. Someone has welded a 'tip' on it for some reason. I think I may chop the welded bit off as the fin is in superb condition. Found it in the bottom of a box of old tools. The guy didn't know what it was and even said so ! I didn't tell him until he'd taken the 3 quid

Hi Steve, you are right on the tail fin.

What is the number on the box? Usually it would have been painted "Service Brown".

    Cheers, Ade.

    Ade

The number is 'M 92' then underneath it a smaller 'TS' followed by a vertical bar and then '1941'. Why I didn't include that info in the first place I don't know !

Good news on the tail fin, thanks for the confirmation. I am really pleased.......3 was a bargain

    Cheers
