very tasty
My first thought was "yummy" as I scrolled down the first word on the first post was "yummy" I think that about covers it. I just had a heart surgery two weeks ago and that stuff new or old just can't be good for the old ticker so I think I'll pass on that meal. What a find though.
Thats a great find
I still eat Fray Bentos corned beef, it delicious with ploughmans pickle
I think the troops would have loved it !

Hello burie,
What a coincidence,
This morning I asked my partner to buy a couple of tins of 'Corned dog' as I'm making a 'Potmess'. Memories of my service days, the recipe is simple;
Take any vegetables that are handy, onion is important, clean chop into oxo cube sized pieces. Take any left over meat, make sure no bones and cut up as above. Place all into large container, a slow cooker is ideal. Add bottle of wine,beer or cider plenty of pepper, herbs to taste and the most important ingredient, a tin of corned beef cut onto cubes. Cook very slowly for as long as it takes!
Todays contains plenty of veg, rabbit, lamb, bay leaves, garlic, bottle red wine, and of course, the corned beef.
Lovely on a cold day.
Do experiment, you may be pleasanly surprised!
Cheers,
navyman.
mmmmm.. I can almost smell it
