Just goes to show. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Nice one.

One of our employees is offering this to me. He thinks it's a rare historical example... I think it's too far gone. The bore is really dirty... perhaps corroded. I looked down into the barrel with my bore light and it was hard to differentiate the crud from the rifling.

I also believe it's missing the wood foregrip and cleaning rod.

    What do you guys think?

Depends on what the asking price is, even if it can't be fired it'd be a nice display piece!....

Thanks, Steve and Gunny... I let the Argentine Mauser go. Our employee had too big of a head... thought it was the holy grail and wanted too much for it. No thanks! Plus, the barrel gave sewer pipes a bad name!

We saved this little guy a few days before Thanksgiving!

years ago I could buy these in good shape for about 40.00. i think passing on it was a good thing. They never were very Desirable. Ammo was a little hard to get also.

    Japanese sword ..
I might be wrong, but one of the symbols stamped on the handle, I believe is the mark for Tokyo Arsenal manufacture.

It has the Suya Company logo, with a Tokyo First Arsenal stamp, and the stacked cannonballs of Kokura.
