Flea Market find. Trench art?

Hi. Found this interesting piece for $15 at my local flea market. Hand made out of some kind of tin metal with a wood base and metal legs. Looks like a MG 08 very nicely detailed with little brass bullets and CISAENFIELD painted on the water drum. It's about 7 inches long. Searching on the web I found a museum site where they talk about a captured MG 80 at the Battle of Cambrai in 1917. The Allies painted that on the drum. Also, this particular MG 08 was on a wood base with metal legs!!!! My cameras down so I had to take pics with my phone. I don't know much about Trench Art so any feedback or ideas on what is is or where it could have come from would be greatly appreciated.
