Do you have more photos? I believe the star looks like a nationalist Chinese symbol, but the parachute symbol is unknown to me. Did the seller have any background information?

The Nationalist Chinese forces were supplied with M1917 Enfield rifles and bayonets by the US during the Pacific campaign-as with most Nationalist equipment much was captured by the Red Chinese during the war and afterwards in the Civil war that ended in 1949 with the Reds victorious.

    Hey guys.
    Thanks for helping.
The seller didn't give me any backround on the items he sold me.
I was lucky to find his junk shop in a run down area in Shanghai.
I was really looking for ww2 Japanese stuff but my wife ( being Chinese ) told me they didn't have
places that sold them.( what she meant was "we are looking for shoes not weapons" )
So while she was getting her nails done I got lost and found the junk shop.
    I will upload more pics.

Hello-the M1917 bayo appears to have been cut down to a trench/fighting knife length weapon-the scabbard is a cut down Japanese Arisaka type-the markings may be a trench art style decoration for a Japanese parachute unit-what makes it hard to be sure is all the stuff sent to China during the war ended up being used on all sides by the end.

    hey.
    cheers mate.
It's a shame when weapons get cut down by hunters etc..., but in this case I'm happy because I know they were cut down by another army for a new war.
The 1942 U.S M1 bayonet is complete and mint.
The 1969 Chinese (made for V.C army) bandolier is a nice find too, although a little different from others I've seen.
I thought the scabbard might be Japanese and had been cut down, but like you said it all got mixed and matched by the winning side at the time and re-used againest the losers.

    Hey.
Had no trouble getting this stuff out.
China is very relaxed about taking stuff out and bringing it in.
Getting it into New Zealand was a problem, they almost took them off me.
Even though I decleared it all they asked a lot of questions and weren't going to let me have them.
But, lucky for me they were very very busy and I sweet talked them and said they were all blunt and rusty.
The customs guy likes war stuff too and gave me a special stamp to let me through the x-ray part but said I was lucky they were so busy otherwise they would have looked at them and taken them away.
    For the 2 bayonets I paid $40nz and the bandolier $22nz.( $31u.s & $17u.s ) or ( $20gbp & $11gbp )
