    Super find!

Given that the other insignia is all British WW2 issue, I would suspect the bag might be too? But I must admit it is not one I recognise and I collect British stuff.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and suggestions.

One of the items I find interesting, but I do not know what it is so I am going to post a detailed picture in the German section. If anyone has an opinion I would be pleased to hear from you.

    Kind regards, Malcolm.

Wow I thing you've hit the jackpot

again as Ade stated the webbing strap and buckle look more British in style to U.S. the webbing appears to be the MECo style Class I as used by the Brits instead of Mills (U.S.A.) class I with is slightly different. Or could be U.S. WWI manufacture ? If you can do some close ups on the bag I'll have another look

    Hello Nige,

Thank you for the reply. I have enclosed a few pics as requested. One shows stitching on the reverse. Inside this is forms two pockets. Could this be for a gas mask?

    Kind regards, Malcolm.

Tent bag? Ask Ade to show his veteran paras they might recognise it in a jiffy whilst we speculate.
    Whats the Aus... tag for?
The only thing in garages around here are spiders.

Possibly a gasmask bag of types ... French .. Belgium ??

From the bagdes I would hazard a guess that the chap was going through the western Europe campaign 44 - 45 .... XXX Corp, Shaef, 21st Army group ...

I would say it is not British for sure now, having seen the extra pics.

    Cheers, Ade.
