Garage find! M42

Article about: I found this in the garage of a guy that scraps steel for a living. He said his grandfather brought it home in 45-46. It's been juggled around in the garage ever since.

Can anyone decipher the codes on the inside in the 6th pic?
The stamp "hkp" is the makers code for Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke, Lauter.

    "56" is the shell size.

The other set of numbers is the production batch number.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thanks Ade.
I think i will only add a chin strap to it. Only because i like how they look with the strap over the front.
