Gift from a friend of a friend
Hi all
Many years ago my Mother worked as a nurse caring for elderly people who wished to stay in their own home. One guy i met a couple of times used to be in the Desert Rats. I knew little of his experiences and had started to visit him more often when he sadly passed away. That was 8 years ago.
Two weeks ago my mother declared....' Oh by the way. I found something that Mr ****** gave me and i thought you would like it for your collection.'
BLOODY HELL !
A genuine Afrika Corps arm band that the chap had 'removed' from a german prisoner and a copy of an original cartoon 'book' presented to the troops on active service in the desert. As you can see i have framed them both to keep them from harm.
....... I think i best go round my mothers house see what else she has got stashed away !

Great story Relichunter. Keep us posted of your other finds.
Is the space in the R as big as the space in the P or are they not same?
I hope you know what i mean because i have a bit of trouble to put it in correct english what i mean.

BoMir
The spaces look the same to me. Indeed, the 'R' looks exactly like the 'P' but with a 'tail' added.
Now i hope you know what I mean !

Nice gift!
The "Two Types" were a very popular comic strip.
The cufftitle is a nice original example. Please see this pinned thread of mine about how to recognise an original from a repro:
